Hyd pump overhaul???

SInce my old 425 is now "new" the last thing I have to re-do is the hyd pump. Are there seals to change, how hard, ????????

SInce my old 425 is now "new" the last thing I have to re-do is the hyd pump. Are there seals to change, how hard, ????????

The first question is which pump? Mine has three:

1. Variable output drive pump with tram pedal control
2. Fixed output PTO pump with solenoid control
3. Fixed output Aux PTO pump that controls the lift, tilt, steering and Aux PTO functions

Overhauling 2 or 3 should be relatively straightforward and inexpensive. Overhauling #1 is much more complicated and expensive due to having a charge pump, swash plates, etc. Terry quoted me around $900 to rebuilt mine at Tazewell a few years back.

What symptoms are you finding that drives the rebuild of the pumps?
