If one were to make an Argo type 4 passenger, 6x6, using a small diesel engine and 2 Hyd motors for drive system, could everything be sized (pump, motors etc) and geared to provide a top speed of 20-25 mph?

Seems like hyd drive is the best way to run one of these, to make it steerable.

Sure, you just have to match up l the HP, pump displacement hyd motors ,diameters of the tires, and hyd motor torque, etc.

You would probably want one motor per wheel, as in this from Power-Trac.

Two large hyd motors running chains to all the wheels would work also.

Yea the 2 large motor idea was more what I had in mind, that way it would be easier to set the final gearing.
