Huskee Lawn tractor

I have a hiskee Lawn tractor, is there a way to bypass the ignation to see if you need to get a new one? I have nothing when I turn the key. new battery in it now. My dad took the ignation out of this and we tried to put it back, the tractor ran /started fine before, but now wont do anything.

If your husky has an 18hp B&S on it, they are known to have ignition coil failures do to heat. I have had to replace two of them. One thing to do that will help is to never shut down the engine with out letting it run at an idle for a few minutes. This cools the engine down a little.
