Does an HST compact tractor use one hydraulic pump for everything?

I suspect it does, but most manufacturers do not go into much detail about their systems. Thanks in advance.

I suspect it does, but most manufacturers do not go into much detail about their systems. Thanks in advance.

On most HST tractors these days, there 2 hydraulic gear pumps, then the variable piston pump for the HST along with a fixed piston motor.

One of the gear pumps, often called the main pump, handles the loader, remotes, 3pt hitch and backhoe if there is one.

The second gear pump, smaller one, handles the hydraulic steering, PTO valve on some tractors and acts as charge pump to feed the HST.
