HST=4WD ?

i went to the dealers place today and looked around. love to do that on a sunday when no sales people are present. i'm leaning pretty heavily toward a L3400. i noticed on some L3400's, just above the rear wheel fender, it says "4WD". on others it says "HST". but never hst AND 4wd. if it says hst is it always a 4wd? thank you.

I believe that all L series HST's are 4wd.

All HST's are 4WD. The Grand L3130 & 3830 are offered in a 2WD model but only in the FST (gear) transmission.

Also, I believe that the L2800 & L3400 models also are offered in 2WD, but again, only in the gear tranny (if you opt for the HST it is 4WD). L4400 is offered in both 2WD & 4WD but the only tranny option for this tractor is gear (no HST available).

It appears according to the brochures (2005 year models) I have that ALL HST models are 4WD.

Anyone correct me if I am wrong here?

could be different model years. I have a bx, and it is a 2004. It says "power steering" on the hood. The 2005 does not say that, even tho the 2005 does have PS.

Kubota used to offer one B series tractor with a hydrostatic transmission in a 2WD model. The B2400HSE (B2410HSE later) isn't offered any longer. I only saw one on another dealers lot one time. Hope this helps.
