How to replace a hyd quick connect fitting?

The fitting for an add-on grapple caught in the front loader mechanism and was smashed. Does the connector just unthread? Will hydraulic fluid run out when un-threaded?

As long as you didn't egg the threads, it should spin off. If you can't get it removed, cut the hose and put a repair end on, or take it to a hydraulic line shop and have them swage another on it.

You'll have some oil in there, but it shouldn't be under pressure if you bled it down before removing it.
