So I have a new deck and its a good spot for my tractor until I build a shed. Is there an easy and good way to shed the water away. I know I can cover the tractor with a tarp, but with my exhaust sticking straight up its a pain. Here is a picture of under the deck with beam.

My house walks into the basement and the main walkway to the door is under the deck above, so I needed a similar sloution.

What I came up with is placing the plastic corrugated roofing sold at the box stores to put overhead. I shimmed it so the water would run down (pitched) to the end where I have a gutter to a downspout and underground.

I would look into getting an exhaust flapper from TSC or somewhere else if possible no matter what, if the exhaust is pipe straight up.

You could use tin sheets for a false roof under the flooring and above your tractor, but that may be cost prohibitive.

Could cut a hole in the tarp for the exhaust then put a tin can on it to keep water out of the exhaust. Another possibility would be to attach the tarp to the bottom of the deck.

Put a roof over the deck, then close off the sides with glass and do the same with the area below the deck.

Dry storage. A dry place to sit out of the rain!:thumbsup:

There are several kits avalible on line or from big box stores for under deck drainage.

The previous owner of my home used corrugated aluminum roof and pitched it to a gutter...

He said it took awhile to install and he also make a quick attach or sorts to one of the deck boards to get a garden hose in to flush if necessary.

We have a walk-out basement with a deck overhead. We have a system similar to the TimberTech and it works really well. It channels the water out to the end where it falls into a gutter. We get a few drips of water where the deck meets the house but the patio stays dry. I park my motorcycle under there in the summer. I think it was around $900 installed. Also makes a nice finished look to the underside of the deck.

For a really inexpensive shelter for the kids bikes etc. I stapled heavy duty black plastic to the underside of my pool deck.

Pixguy, that ceiling looks very good. Clean, neat job!

Thank you, I hated to lose that space when it rains and have water dropping on us from overhead.

Plus it was a great place to store my MF tlb until I built a garage for her. :D

I did similar to pixguy but more low tech.
I used bent coat hangers for hooks and suspended some spare pipe at either end of the plastic and one for the middle.
I then just laid several sheets of the corrugated roof plastic on these with a little overlap. Lot's of "stuff" filters thru the porch so I take it down every once and a while to rinse off.

Whatever you do make sure you have a way to get to the top side for cleaning you will be amazed how much stuff will get trapped up there.

I did the very same thing...I think it cost me less than $100 and we are always dry underneath...it has been about 10 years..plastic does not rot and it has held up well..we rinse once a year with a little bleach in a each gallon of water..

Sorry for the Iphone photo that light the actual cover, but here's a photo after we got lots of rain last night, and kept the furniture under deck dry.
