Last weekend on my up to the country I always look at trailers and what they are hauling. Seems most of the time the trailers are empty empty!! Maybe a riding lawnmower and as we get closer to the gun deer season, some small trailers with ATV's on them. But still 75% there is nothng in them.

So am I always seeing people on their way "back"? Or is hauling a trailer just plain cool. ;D Empty or not.

3 times in the past 3 months.

1. Coming home new.
2. Home to JD to pick up LX5.
3. From folks place to home (dropped off LX5).

The only times I haul empty is on my way to pick up stuff or after I have dropped it off. ;)

I'd say 75% of the time my trailer is hooked up to the truck. That being said about 75% of that time I have something on it. The truck is only driven about 5000 miles a year so........

Only twice. When new to get it home and weighed and then the other time on a long road trip to pick up a vintage station wagon for a coworker's project. The trailer is loaded right now ready to brush hog my boss's vacant land on Sunday.

I have noticed more than half of trailers are empty trailers too. I like to see people's chaining arrangements or lack of.

:D I'm like Mr. Inspector. I like to see anything people are hauling, slow down or speed up to get a good look. Especally if it's some equipment.

When I go to town to fetch something that will not fit in the Jeep I pull my 4X8 trailer...so in that situation it would be 50% empty.

I've been building a new house these last few months, which requires a bit of hauling. Empty on the way to the hardware store. Full to the job site. Empty on the way home. That's empty two out of three.

90% the trailer is loaded and hooked up most of the time to prevent theft also. Only time I unhook it is to transfer it to my buddies truck which we drive to our atv spots since my truck has no A/C.

If the trailer has a wood deck, your always hauling "lumber"... steel deck, always hauling "steel". Probably always hauling a little bit of "paint" too.

every time i go out to the property on the weekends i try to load up at least a partial trailer load (5x10) of stuff from around the house/shop to take out to the property (as it all has to be moved eventually)

so every monday the trailer comes home empty.

The other weekend i pulled the empty trailer over to the local tractor dealer in hopes of makeing a deal for a brush hog. he wasnt intrested in selling anything so i towed it back home empty.
