We have eaten steel cut oats for years- but just boil them on the stove. Sometimes I just add some to shredded wheat for a different texture.
I like Bob's Red Mill. I am buying organic all purpose flour for my bread made by them. I look for deals on it.

If you like pinto beans, I recommend Anasazi. They are a bit different in that they cook up quicker, produce little or no gas (yeah, it's true) and have a slight sweet taste.
