This question brings to mind one of the best albums (CD's) of all time IMHO, Roger Waters Amused to Death. For those who know it, the lyric goes, "this species has amused itself to death."
Hello all, here is what I think of it:
God cares for the earth:
Psalms 65:9 You visit the earth and water it,
You greatly enrich it;
The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
Collossians 7:17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
We also have the command: Be fruitful and multiply. This means that if the earth fills up with people, He will sustain it. We need not worry about the earth being overtaxed by people.
We do need to make sure we know the Savior and have salvation.

I think you need to do a stint in farming,you might learn a thing or 2Another great answer. Nations and people experience feast and famine as they listen to or ignore God. He'll give us what we need.
Think of the song " In the year 2525 if man is still alive." Great insight...
99% of all the species that have existed are now extinct. So long as we have all our eggs in one basket (Earth) it's only a matter of time until we join them.

I agree that science can be dangerous. I see that its danger is from accidental circumstance tho -- not systemic. It is science that has made possible the huge human overload on the Earth. Unfortunately science has not yet found a way to make it sustainable. Perhaps those break thrus will happen. Perhaps a biological mutation will wipe us out. Anything will be construed as Gods will by faith, and therefore good. Our best chance there is a total toss up -- Not a system.I wouldn't question anyone for their belief system, with the way Man is heading in our evolution, science is not the answer to everything.
Right now IMO our greatest threat to survival is the scientific laboratory, either intentional or mistaken blunder.
So hope and faith may be our best chance.
