How long before Compact Diesels are obsolete?

I try to say never say never. That probably hold true to electric tractors. Are they going to take over next week? No but in a few years maybe they will start to be common place. In my mind they wouldn’t be any more complicated than diesel powered.

The day they start making Electric CUTs is the day they start making Electric Harley Davidsons.

I test rode one with my buddy over the summer , Has some snap to it but 30k and 100 mile range not for me.....

How long before Compact Diesels are obsolete? Answer is 100 years but probably longer. Now will there be alternate powered ones sooner? sure. Energy storage just isn't efficient yet for long enough use for tractor loads and the work they do and then there is the higher rolling resistance where tractors are used, soft ground, brush, mud, snow, etc. These are all high energy draining activities.

An electric motorcycle or small car is typically empty or very lightly loaded and on a paved surface which provides much lower rolling resistance. Have seen the same question about HD diesel pickups, answer is the same.

Diesel was $5 per gallon in 2010. The world didnt end. I did however get a 6 year old diesel F350 with 24,000 miles on it fir $16,000 at a dealers lot. Had sticker in glovebox that stated $58,000. No one wanted it cause diesel was $5.00. I did

Sounds like your son needs some training if he expects to make a living as a mechanic for the next twenty or thirty years.

He's fine. Very intelligent and always progressing. But then, you would have known what to do in the first five minutes.

It is human nature to resist change. That's okay when it comes to purchase choices. It can be deadly when it comes to jobs and careers.

I think that pace is accelerating. Thinking you don't need to acquire relevant skills or education, and will simply work where your old man worked, and where his old man worked before that is not a career plan. It is a path for disappointment. Even worse, more females are finding these men as unattractive for a mate, even furthering their despair.

Technology didn't make the horse unemployed
It made the horse unemployable.

The same thing can happen to people.

I just heard tonight that on average, Asian Women make more money than White Men. I'm not sure where that is, but I'm guessing in the good old U.S. of A. It wouldn't have much relevence elsewhere.
