IH 424
Hi, this is my first post. Been doing some reading, looks like a good forum. I recently bought a 1966 IH 424 with 4 cyl. gas motor. I was rototilling for the first time today and it was running at about 210 degrees. This seems awful hot to me. Outside temp was only 70 degrees. The factory gauge doesn't work so I'm relying on an aftermarket one installed by the previous owner.
Anybody know about what temp I should be running at? The manual only references not being on the H in the factory gauge.
Thanks
Nick

Welcome to TBN

210 seems high, but then again............how accurate is that aftermarket guage??

I would think 180 to 195 would be max for that year.

Make sure screens and radiator are clear od debris......pressure washers and compressed air can bend cooling fins on radiators so be careful when cleaning.
