I have lived in the Philippines for years, Barain, Dubi and the Abrain gulf. Most people don't kinow what hot is. Ride a aircraft carrier and its 120 in the shade but their is no shade unlless you duck under an aircraft wing and Navy aircraft wings fold.

This morning was like so many others... I was hoping to saw some lumber but it's just wet and drizzly enough so that I don't want to uncover the saw mill. I decided to take a ride to the grocery store; 4 miles out the roads were bare and dry. I went to town, did my shopping and never saw a drop of moisture. When I got 3 miles from home I was right back into the fog and drizzle again.

Yes Sir, dry and burning.

Just went through the dry with a fire here 2 days ago. My property was inside an evacuate now zone. Got notified to leave by emergency management via an automated phone call.
There were 4 helicopters and 5 AT-802 Fire Boss aircraft and local mutual aid crews from 7 fire departments that were able to suppress the fire in about 8 hours.
If it wasn't for the air support and the first response by local ranchers the fire would probably still be burning.

Always had a hard time explaining this to surgery unit as they couldn't perform surgeries if the relative humidity was over 60%. High infection risk at this level.
This is a real important concept to grasp for anyone dealing with high temps and high humidity.

And explaining why a 64*/50% OR cost so much more than a 68*/50% OR goes right over their phd head!

Getting below 68/50 generally pushes us to either very cold chilled water/glycol (leaving coil ~45*) or a OA pretreatment unit or both in this climate.

2:30 PM - - 96F and 4% relative humidity here. Two of those Fire Boss aircraft were used on the local wildfire about ten days ago. They look like an Ag spray plane on floats. They must have made twenty trips - right over my house. So close - I could see the pilot's face.

Have they ever used your lake for that? Would they need to get permission first?

Solid 80-85deg F, humid, not as bad as it was in So. Illinois, which was just a whole day of Swamp @ss.

Jstpssng - Yes they have used my little ten acre lake a few times. The water bag toting helicopters. It's way too short for those fixed wing aircraft. I got a call on my cell phone - requesting permission. Of course - I gladly gave permission. What the HEY - it was the Watermelon Hill wildfire and it was coming right at my property. 7-22-2014 almost exactly nine years ago. Really dodged a bullet on that one.

It was the local farmers and their big tractors that quelled the fire. All the dedicated ground equipment was over in the Wenatchee Valley fighting fires there.
