How High RPM On CK3510

I was just on a Kubota forum on facebook and came a cross a post talking about rpm's. Some ppl mentioned they can run up to 3,000 - 3,500 rpm. On my ck3510 it will only go as high as 2,600-2,700 rpm ( if I can remember correctly)...... Is 2,700 rpm tops normal? The guage goes high but the engine doesn't.

Sounds about right. My DK 35 will go to around 2700-2800 rpm.

I can get to about 2900 or so. But, I couldn't when I first got the tractor. The throttle was sticky. I adjusted it where the cable fed through the cowling into the engine compartment. Afterwards, it was smooth and I could reach 2900. I can only reach full throttle with the hand throttle. I guess my foot throttle (gear tractor) isn't adjusted as tightly.

Engines make rated Hp at certain RPM's, a Kubota with the same rated Hp might have to spin at 3200 RPM's to make rated power. The slower an engine can spin to make rated power, the smoother it should feel.

On my CK3510, I don't usually need more than 2500 RPM's, and only temporarily when lifting or going up hills. Also per advice read on TBN, I also bump the throttle so it is idling at 1500 RPM's in most situations.
