*** HOW FAR DO YOU DRIVE????

I used to occasionally drive my little Kubota 8 miles to my brother's place or 4 miles to a brother-in-law's place, or a little more than a half mile to a 30 acre place I mowed for someone else. This was on farm-to-market roads on which I might see as many as 3 or 4 cars on a trip, or I might see none.

With the big old Oliver, cutting and baling hay, it was sometimes as much as 12 to 15 miles one way on the farm-to-market roads.

How many have insurance that at least covers liability damages while your tractor is off your property?

My insurance covers me going from one farm to the other, but no place else. Of course, I don't go anyplace else.

I have full insurance They make road tractors. When corn bales were a big thing they used to run all over the place. They could hit about 50 MPH and haul 12 round bales on a auto load wagon.

Racking up road miles doesn't harm the tractor, as long as you remember to disengage the 4wd and avoid being hit by distracted drivers jawing on the cellphone. Safely roading a tractor has something to do with how much traffic there is. I felt somewhat safer after putting a rearview mirror on the tractor. At least now I can see what's coming up behind and whether they see me and are slowing up.

Paved roads are kind of hard on the tire treads though, particularly with R1 Ag's. R4's have harder rubber and less aggressive tread, so the wear's not as bad. It's also important to keep your tire pressures up - always a good idea regardless  - when running in road gear. If a tire is low, the tractor will pull to one side or get to bouncing as it goes at higher speeds.

As long as it's farming related, covered under farming rider to H.O. Policy. Does cover use on public roads.

The key thing is to make sure you are in 2WD while on the roads, I did tear the 4wd out of a cub while using it on pavement,,,,,the OP said he had plates on his tractor, so one would assume he has insurance

About once-twice a month I drive my BX2360 a mile down the road to my buddy to help him out with some of his lawn chores. (I consider it added seat time!)
