That's why I have pigs, to take care of some of the excess. Right now I'm feeding them dandelion greens, it's nice to finally have a use for them.Trouble with either one of those is that they're so prolific that not even halfway thru the season you're sick of eating it, and have run out of neighbors, friends, co-workers to pawn the excess off onto. :laughing:
Neither stores well either.
Planted yellow squash one year, learned lesson.
Hard squash (acorn, butternut, hubbard, etc.) is bad enough, at least it keeps and is way more versatile.
I also have some apples and acorn squash left over from last year that I have to remember to feed to them.
