Had our first mess of green onions last evening; they were set out mid February. Have radishes, lettuce and cucumbers coming up, but just barely. Need some rain. About two weeks early for tomatoes, unless you are among the brave and don't mind watching the weather closely and covering them if the occasion demands.
We have a few green onion volunteers, plus a few in pots from last year. Need to remember they are there when I'm cooking.

I'm running the sprinklers again this morning. Friday is our next good chance of rain. I had moved all the trays of sprouts {plus the bigger pepper and tomato plants} to the underground bunker when I had that frost. I sat the trays out of the hole and covered with wire to keep the cats off them. Must have been too much sun too soon for the brocolli. About 90% of them were cashed yesterday. I did forget to water them, and they were in the 48 count tray, so not much soil per sprout. I'll put some more seeds down tomorrow or the next day. This time in a pan full of soil, not the high count tray. Tomato and pepper sprouts looking good though. Will need to up-pot in about a week or so. Corn, peas, beans and any other above ground seeds I can round up going in Sunday or Monday. I may have to till up the north half of the garden before I proceed too far along that path.

After losing my first few plants due to three nights of COLD temps, I am back in business with veggies on the Pier.

Some fresh compost from the farm in the pots and the tomatoes are responding.

And some more plants ready to go!

My big perennial planter of Chive was growing back nicely and getting all greened up when I went into to the greenhouse. So I watered it and then cut up a big bunch to use. Scrambled eggs and chives for breakfast then spaghetti with butter and chives for dinner! :licking:

Dang yesterday was such a nice day too smoothed off the muddy ruts in my driveway using the tractor's bucket loader as most of the last snowstorm accumulation had pretty much melted off

but it's snowing again right now though and expect sleet and freezing rain later. Been a perpetual mud season since mid Feb this year! :confused2:

LnG, those look great. I have a few little peppers and tomatoes showing now, but the plants still have to go into bigger pots soon. I don't have enough soil mixed to up-pot all of them. Might have to gift a few.

DFB, dang snow:mad: Glad you are getting something green.

I got back in the garden today. Planted 5 rows of okra, 6 of pink eyed purple hull peas, 6 of sweet corn, 6 of green beans, and 1 of cilantro. Going to sow some kale seeds in a pan when I get some soil mixed. {I've got to go to the old house to get my hoe to do the mixing} Most everything is starting to come up. That includes lots and lots of grass and weeds. I knew that is what would happen from running the sprinklers, but it was really dry.

Yesterday afternoon I planted some more pepper seed in 6 packs. 4 Grand Bell Mix and 2 California Wonder Bell in one tray, and {in alphabetical order from front to back} 2 Cayenne, 2 Cubanelle and 2 Hot Lemon. I'm going to dig out the seeds and do a few more this morning before the storm hits. Most likely have to sow in aluminium trays because I don't think I can lay my hands on six more 6 pack trays.

I'm hoping the rain isn't too hard. Last spring we got 6 inches in one day, and the ground was so packed that planting never really recovered.

No pictures but I've planted beets and onions. Getting ready to mow down the salad patch to plow, till and plant red potatoes and Kennebec.

Sunday I had the snow blower on the tractor and blowed a little bit of the garden to get a jump on things:laughing:
In the past week or so I'm able to see just the top of that little fence that we grow peas on :confused3:. The 12" we got on April fool's day is just about melted.
