Well I finally got it ordered yesterday.
After driving both and considering all the slopes my property has, along with some sage advice, I decided on the shuttle shift over the HST.
I found the HST rocker somewhat awkward and uncomfortable to drive. I think they need to redesign that pedal and the two pedal types are likely better in use. However I had no problem with the shuttle shift and won't be shoveling out horse stalls and such anyway.
I think the shuttle with the backhoe I drove at the west coast distribution place will be mine. They'll have to swap out the Ag tires for R4s, add the BH bucket & thumb, add the spark arrester, weld a chain hook and clevis to the front bucket, add the extra rear remote and fill the rear tires. I should be seeing it arrive in about a week or so. Ended up costing right up next to $33K including tax and fees to the People's Republic of California.
It's supposed to be raining here for the next week or so, so that should help a bit with the waiting. Till then I'll figure out what to do about fueling the thing. A couple of 5 gal cans for the interm.
Oh yeah for anyone wondering about the seat with the backhoe. It unlatches, then lifts, then unlatch and rotate the seat, then it drops back down and latches again. It is a somewhat klugey and clunky mechanism so I'll find a way to make it a bit smoother, quicker and easier to use. It shouldn't be too hard to improve on what they have. An obvious afterthought that was tossed together. Kinda like their website. Product engineering should be done by engineers, not left to lawyers.
