How about this tool??

If I had an assistant to hand me the wrenches, I think I would just go one step further, and let them do the job.

Kind of like, you might be a redneck if you say you would get a shop with a car hoist if you won millions. I don't think I would be pulling on a lot of wrenches.

Having to remove a mercury inboard /out board engine recemtly and all bolts were 9/16th. except the exhaust water jacket and below the level of seeing the bolts. no tool metric or standred would fit. took a vice grip and loosened one bolt .and didn't have a tool for torx type bolt. then realized a 12 point socket would fit. except didn't have in tool box. 15 mile trip to garage and return then again crawl into the small area on boat to remove the remaining 3 bolts. if I could make a change all bolts common group usage would be same size. because know will be when repairs completed and returning to the boat.
have a Creasent wrench my father hung on a 1952 Farmall H and on selling the tractor put it in my tool box. Now wish had not sold the tractor.

That's why I don't change my own oil any more. Once down and once up is my limit.

I wrote the size of the drain plug on white Gorilla tape and stuck it under the hood. Last time I forgot it was there and did the multiple crawl thing anyway.

What I would like is the tool that you use to determine thread size and pitch. The only reason that I don't have one is because I don't know what it's called.

The thread cleaning files are what you want. I have 3 of them. Just lay it on the thread until you find the perfect fit.

The square ones I used had 8 pitches on one file.
