I don't think I want an un-plumb downspout, I am kind of weird about stuff like that. Seem like you would have to cant it significantly to make it hit the side. How would you know where it is dripping from and which way to cant it? I think placing something in the elbow that deadens the sounds is the best move.Try canting the gutter so the drip is hitting the side of the gutter, rather than the elbow at the bottom...
I have seen somewhere in the past evestrough draining down a chain, so I wonder if you hung a plastic chain inside a downspout, if the water would follow it down without splish splashing so much??Help me out fellas. I have a downspout on the corner of my house that is 3 feet from my head when I am sleeping and it is noisy. The way the water drips down it must impact the bottom elbow just so and it makes a racket. I was thinking about using some of that cheap filter medium for an HVAC system or a scotchbrite pad glued to the inside of the elbow to see if that makes it more quiet. Any other ideas?
