I think I understand how it works, but hopefully someone KNOWS... The hour meter on my B8200 must read time elapsed based on rated engine speed, which, I think, is 1 hour indicated for each hour at 2600 RPM. Now, what I would like to know, does it read 1 hour for each 2 hours at 1300 RPM? Anybody know?? Thanks

That is the way the RPM-driven hour meter works on my B2910 kubota. It clocks an hour if the engine runs an hour at rated RPM. It clocks a half hour if the engine runs an hour at Half-rated RPM.

Do I know this for sure? Not really, as I have not tried running to engine for an hour at half-rated RPM to check what the hour meter would read. However, logic dictates it would be so, and many have reported here at TBN that RPM-driven hour meters do indeed work that way.

I know from experience that it takes a lot longer to rack up hours when I am not running at full rated RPM. Actually, I rarely run at full RPM. About the only time I ever have is when mowing/brush hogging... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

On the other hand, I am surprised at how fast the hours add up on my bx2200. It is an electric hour meter and every hour is an hour...they sure add up a lot faster...
