Horse year id

I just picked up a horse ,8hp briggs with a cast sleeve. It is a project and got it for a great price. serial number is 437806, I used to have the link to id the year but can't find it. Any help is appreciated thanks. I already have one horse this is number two.

Go to the briggs site and the find engine number, unless you want Troy and they should be under google.

The first two numbers of the code number on the Briggs engine will tell you the year ie; 7901200= 1979

If the engine has issues and you would have to spend a lot of time or buy parts for it, think about getting one of those 6.5 hp HF honda clones on sale for about $100 or so.

It was build between July of 79 and January of 80
