I have a 2004 Honda Rubicon. It has a D1, D2 and ESP transmission speed. I do not drive it fast but I have steep hills. What is the best range to use. Also if I pull a disc or cultipacker behind it what range should it be in. thanks

The gear shift has 4 positions. L - D - N - R
For steep hills and pulling a trailer or disk, put the gear selector in L - Low Range.
The Shift pattern selector knob should be in D1 when in D or Drive. D1 and D2 is disabled when in L - Low gear.
D2 is for low traction situations like driving on ice.
You can use the ESP function if you would like to shift the transmission via the thumb buttons on the handle bar control unit.
