Hello Folks, I have been lurking here and reading.

Just to add something to the site here is a landscape rake that I built some years ago. I looked at the ones that the equipment dealers had and felt that I could go to the junk pile and maybe build something cheaper.

Well I did not do too bad until I checked on the tines. To purchase 18 of them would cost more than the rake with tines.
I looked at some alternatives and using automobile flat springs would probably work. I started collecting all the springs that I could find.

I cut them so they were all about the same length and drilled a 3/8 hole in the end.
Than I had to hand drill all 18 holes in the up right flange of the angle to make the springs work. The holes for the tines had been drilled in the angle iron before I welded the whole thing to gather.

It seem to work well but I can't compare this rake to a factory rake.
The pictures are of the rake.

Nice.

Did you salvage the pivot point or did you build it from scratch?

Very nice. I like that you built your own tines. When I built mine, I bought them for $5 each. They were the heavy duty ones, and I've broke two of them so far.
