That is sad. I am sure the fault was in the person who loaded the backhoe, if it was attached right, the whole rig would have tipped over, before the hoe fell off.

Unreal, test drive in public with big hoe on back??? Sounds like on top of it all you put an inexperienced driver at the wheel?? You are testing a problem, you should be on your toes for anything, you feel trailer wiggle, you hit trailer breaks and wiggle gone.
Not even worth going down the path of test driving a problem vehicle in public with big hoe on the back.
Heads should roll from all directions.
Really pathetic when these tragedies happen and they are 100% avoidable.

Thanks chopped for posting the video.I wonder if fishtailing was the complaint the hands had made.Heck of a way to verify it if so.Sad deal.

I would speculate that the load was improperly loaded initially or improperly secured and shifted back resulting in a light tongue weight, and ultimately the driver's loss of control. I can see know way that this was due to any issue with the tow vehicle- any freightliner can handle a Case 580 series backhoe.
