3-Point Hitch Hitch won't work

I have a Kubota MX 5000 about 13 years old and 400 hrs with a land pride auger. It has worked well for 2 years. The other day I went to plant some trees and the auger won't go down. It was stored in the up position. The pto woks fine. All fluids check ok. Anybody have a suggestions as to what might be wrong? I live a long way from a Kubota dealer which means big bucks for service.

First, check the valve (knob) under the seat to make sure it didn't get closed (closed is fully clockwise). If closed the 3 pt. won't got down.
If that's open next would be to lube all 3 pt linkages. When stored or not used for a length of time they tend to rust up.
My guess would be the valve got closed.
