Oil & Fuel Hino Oil light flickers after medium use

Hi all, I have a Hinomoto 2303 w/ FEL, after a few hr's of work I notice the oil light flickers at idle (goes out with just a bit more gas applied). All oils (engine and trans) are good. Engine temp remaines low. I dont know if it's time of tracktor use or the job. Using FEL for a bit then went to box blade work. I noticed this with box blade work last time but found Trans oil low and serviced. Any help would be appreciated.

Rule of thumb is 10psi initial oil pressure and 10psi for every 1000rpm's after that to keep metal off metal . An oil sender unit will illuminate the warning light at around 7psi . Your oil pressure is down for some reason . You should have it checked with a known good gauge . How many hours has it done ? You may get away with changing the oil to a heavier weight . If your in a warm climate i would suggest a 50 weight oil . You may get many years out of it yet .

Thanks for the info. It has 920 hrs on it. Will go to a heavier oil as suggested.

You might try toclean up the wiring from the pressure sender. I once had an "oil pressure issue" that was due to an electrical short in the wiring. The combination of heat, humidity, and oil slime tripped the circuit.

My operation manual (Yanmar) says flush the crankcase at 600 hours. Dos anybody do this?

You might drop the pan and clean the pump intake screen. Can't hurt, might be all it needs.

I just went through this a year ago with a Hinno, it started out of the blue would only happen after working it and the engine was warm. It is probably the sender, like someone else said you could put a gauge on it,,,,I just went and got a new sender,,, end of problem.

First of all check your sender unit. A faulty sender can do this.
