Just as the topic says, when the tractor is cold and operated near full HST speed. At first I thought only in 3rd range, but tonight (35 out) it did it in 2nd.

All I can tell is it is coming from under the tractor and can't tell the "where". Seems any noise would be echoed upward from the ground anyway.

I can't "just make it happen", as it doesn't do it every time. Tomorrow I will wind some extra grease to the front drive sleeve in hopes that it is just that simple, but I have doubts. To me it is definitely a bearing squeal.

I know this is a shot in the dark question, but am hoping someone else can say "I had that happen"

My TC29DA had a severe bearing squeal coming from somewhere down low. Intermittent, sometimes it would do it and then it wouldn't. I greased the front drive sleeve with about 20 pumps on the grease gun and it completely fixed it. Try that first. Grease it heavily.

I'd almost guarantee that you are both correct in suspecting the front driveshaft tube.

Do NOT discount the thought that it might be thick HST oil trying to go through your small HST filter and then activating your bypass valve. Good luck. Frank
