High / Low shifting Issue

When I bought the tractor last week..the seller told me the high/low shifter would stick in high. He had to get it pulled out of high. He kept it in low and never put it in high.
Was this a common problem for these snappers 1855's? I'm going to see if can see what the problem is....but I thought i'd ask the community as well. It defenitly seems like it is bound up.
