Hew Holland 678 Round Baler

Round baler does not put all of the hay from the pick-up into the chamber! I end up with a bunch of hay piled in between the chamber and the string box. What is causing this and what can I do to fix this issue?

What size are the windrows? Have you tried operating baler at a little lower than recommended pto rpm's? What type of hay & is hay too dry?

It was grass hay but small thin windrows. I haven't tried a lower rpm.

If as you state windrows are thin & rpm's are kept at 540 hay falls off forming bale about as fast as it's being applied. One needs to slow rpm's & shift up a gear or 2. BTDT
