You go ahead. I will stick around and gather up everyones tractors

Just like the lemmings of my previous comment; some of us will stick around to start the KAOS all over again. I wonder if people in England have the same identity crisis as some on this continent, where we feel that we should have no impact here, and that things should revert back to the way they were 1000 years ago.Perhaps it will someday, but not today.

Meh, let society collapse. There are lots of lemmings that don't live close to a seashore. Neither we or the big cats should have to go hungry if we'll just share.

btw, We've been told a lemming stampede is an occasional result of overpopulation due to lack of predators. :scratchchin: They're far from extinct that I know of. Do we have a substitute symbol for people who disagree with us in large numbers? Everybody should have a meme for that, no?

Heaven forbid that if we don't get rid of bad people (different) the World might go to the cats, but couldn't we send the felines back to where they came from? They could take the lemmings with them and we'd have less-crowded cliffs to jump from.

I don't have a cat or a lemming, but if they don't want to work, they might be made into a good stew with the right vegetables. (What's on your couch?)

This interlude brought to you by where this thread seems to be going, too. ;)

So, "Bad kitty. Get out of here." didn't work?

I'd advise the young Lady to work more on her stance and her growl.

Pepper spray not wise to carry on the Island? (Uh .. in the PNW?)

Nary a whimper heard in the video from the charismatic canine.

I don't know what that could mean .. suspect confidence in the situation despite any 'human perspective'.

On Monday and Wednesday this week a mountain lion or lions where filmed wandering the roads of Redwood Estates in the early morning hours, two miles across the canyon from my place. They have been spotted at the bottom of my road in the last month. Nice to know they don't like Metallica, I am not much of a fan either, maybe fight cats with cats Deaf Leopard always drives me away.

As for her dog staying silent I understand. Several years ago we heard what we believe was a mountain lion taking down a deer a hundred feet away from our deck. The deer was making some awful noises, our dogs, a couple of labs would normally be making lots of noise and want to chase off what was out there. This night they stayed very quiet and opted to come inside with us as soon as we opened the door. A week later our neighbors found a deer carcass under their house, they thought it died there, my guess is the lion drug it there.

Could play Nickelback as an alt to Metallica. That's like a 5 meter kill radius IIRC.

Celine Dion repels most mammals in our region & needs a tad less volume to be effective.

The only problem with either of the above is that you would also be in the kill range. Besides, we have laws against cruelty to animals.

I wear earplugs when using the electric shaver, or a brass tumbler. Might be my hearing's humanly limited dynamic range that I've been spared this long from hair band music too. Background noise here is the refrigerator running, and IMO it's annoyingly, if not quite painfully, loud to me. :confused2:

Closest I ever come to wild animal danger is when dispatching a coyote in a leg-hold trap with a hammer handle a few times. (what you do) I carry a shiny .22 LR pistolover when running my line, but it's waay too loud, and maybe I like to go one on one with a risk of losing a digit or something. (I'm crushingly boring and have too few stories to tell. ;))

btw, 'Coons have a smaller 'sweet spot' & move slower, maybe why they seem to take more hits before they stop groaning. They yank the chain like canines of similar wt, but make more noise if any.

I wear earplugs much of my waking hours and feel protected in the KZ with >22 NRR muffs over them & playing Merle Haggard at 3/4 volume if I'm not stalking with a rifle in hand. :cool2:

.. or just plugs like when I'm using the electric shaver, any corded or air powered tool, driving in any vehicle, dental cleaning, live music, stadium seats, on motorbike, brass tumbler. Loud is pain to me somehow. :confused2:

I'm seeing a co-post-editing anomaly(?) I wouldn't have possible. Data path surprise?

No 'edit' note at the bottom of my post #48 'final edit', but there to be quoted earlier than time stat.
