Could be worse, they could discover Fire ants and mosquitos endangered in your back yard.

Good point. if they're in my yard however they aren't endangered, they're exterminated. ;)

Uh, don't 'Western Wolves' predate we Caucasian usurpers of their home territory? IMO we WASPS are still 'taking it all' away from indigenous residents.

Good point. Perhaps we should all take a cue from lemmings and everyone march lockstep into the sea.

I will wait and bring up the rear. I might chicken out, but no one will be around to know. Then I will have everyones tractors.

Anybody who "carries" with the thought of self protection is fooling themselves. It probably would work on a coyote. Any self respecting cougar/mountain lion will be "on you" long before a weapon could do you any good. A cougar will either pass you by or stalk you. They have a lot more experience stalking game than most have defending themselves.

However - if it makes you feel better - go ahead and carry. If the cougar really wants you - it will make little or no difference if you are carrying. Especially at night.

Like lemmings, there are always a few of us who will hold back and repropagate the species. I never could understand the ‘they were here first” argument, especially when talking about a species which has been absent for years. Perhaps we should all move back to Africa where our species originated?

Exactly! Especially those of us who just won't "go back to where we came from." It's all black & white. There is no gray.

The local new this morning has an article about a 911 call for "kitten" roaming in a New Hampshire mall parking lot. The "kitten" actually turned out to be a bobcat!
