Engine = 2w855-20454 Fender = 20407 and Trans = ym 177D-20407.. on the engine cover it reads Y177 and on the uper part of it it Reads SUPER.. any Help would be greatly Helpful...

On the Yanmar website, the "Parts" link just pulls up a page advising you to specify genuine Yanmar parts. That's a big help! :(

You're looking for parts for a 30 year old machine, so I think your only hope is having a dealer order parts for you.

Maybe you don't have a local dealer. If you go to Yanmar's website there's a dealer locator link.
Yanmar Tractor Dealer Locator
Maybe you could find the closest dealer and then order the parts over the phone and have the dealer redirect the shipment to you. The only difficulty would be ordering the parts over the phone when you can't see a parts diagram. I suppose you could order a parts catalog first. I couldn't find one on the Web.

When I Google'd yanmar 177 I found several tractors for sale including one with loader and rear blade for around $5000. Maybe you could buy that one and use yours for parts. :)

Searching on 'YM177' finds some hits. However, the first credible one is not encouraging...
buying a yanmar tractor

Ouch. In case the link dies in the future, here's a quote from the site California found:

Other tractors to avoid if possible:

YM2200
YM2700
YM177
Reasons- These tractors are rare and have some parts that are VERY hard (impossible) to get new. They are, however, still top notch tractors.

The 177 is a grey market model. Yanmar dealers are not permitted to sell parts for grey models. They also would not likely even have a parts book for a 177. That's your first step....find a parts book, get a part # and see if it matches any other model. Even we don't have a 177 parts book. If the part # matches another model's water pump, you may have a chance of getting one. Otherwise the possibility is to take it to a local rebuilder and see if they can match up parts for a rebuild.

Welcome to TBN RedwaspX,

Do a search on this forum for Yanmar 177. Back in July, someone else had some questions on one. Aaron at Hoye said he had a parts book for it and Buck at EFC also has some experience locating parts for your YM177.

Hello it's me redwaspx.. It's been to many years and couldn't remember my user and pass... I just wanted to reply to my old post by saying that I never got around to getting my ym177 water pump fixed and would be interested in selling the tractor for parts.. I have no idea what the tractor would be worth.

They are very rare. I would say there was only a few hundred imported at the the most, just from the lack of info there is on them!

Here are a couple photos of the 177 water pump. My brother (Stealthrogue) and I took it off so we could try to find a used one or rebuild this one for the tractor. I'm not sure if it's rebuild-able as it had a lot of sediment that came out of it and the ports seem to be eaten away some. What do you all think?
Notice it has a small water port at the top that hooks to a temp gauge, I guess.
This looks identical to the 2200 water pump but the 2200 doesn't have the port at the top.

*Note. This pump still has the mounting bracket attached so the two extra bolts holes at the top are for the mounting bracket. We can't get it off as the bolts broke and will need to be drilled out. :-(

If you can locate 1 .I would just replace it than try to rebuild.Good luck !

Thanks @kenmac. That's what I am thinking, hard to locate though. Hoye doesn't have one. Sent a message to BrokenTractor and will see what they have.

I have had real old antique water pumps rebuilt for trucks and tractors. I used to do my own fixing stuff on the farm and you would be surprised at the interchangeability of parts its just a bearing and a seal.

Those guys know what they are doing so dont worry send it in and get a quote. I imagine that if Yanmar pumps can be rebuilt some other kit will fit yours. That pump looks suspiciously like whats on mine fwtw so its likely common parts with some others.

Thanks guys. I think I will send it to Hoye and let them try. It looks very close to the 2200 so I'm sure the bearing will fit. Or if not then if the 2200 has the same bolt pattern I can have the small port at top drilled and threaded to fit the port for the temperature gauge. I will post how it goes for you all.
