Mine's the newer version. They didn't change anything other than the cosmetics.

You should be able to go into a lift arc or SMAW and get an arc started if your remote (the pedal) isn't working.

See if you have a remote setting it should be in the off setting.

You might look at welding tips and tricks dot com (Tig Inverter Settings Part 3). He has a lot of tutorials and videos at that site.

On TIG, AC is used for aluminum, DC for almost everything else.

With TIG you must have very clean metal before welding.
