help with my Dads addiction

What am I to do?

He was up to a tractor a week a while ago,he already has 10,11 ,12, something like that lost count,now he's getting into buying Farmall cubs,this spring it was the little cub cadets.

completely driving my Mom crazy.

no, really I think it's great,he enjoys it and it will give him something to do when he retires later this summer or fall.

that's the thing he buys them and then I go down to his house when he gets ready and tune them up and then start painting.

I think he has enough to keep him busy for a good while,because only four of them have been redone.

it's hard for me to find the extra time to do some of the things he wants me to help him with,5 kids,baseball,then trying to keep my place mowed and our other property mowed,camping and just life in general,I would say that some of those tractors won't get redone until I retire.

Sounds like he misses you and wants to have you around to putter with him.

Unfortunately.. sounds like he is in the late stages of 'tractoritis'.. One of the worst cases I've heard of. Looks to be acute and chronic.

There's not much you can do for him.. except perhaps help him work on them.. as 'therapy'.

oh I know that's what I do,he'll call ask my opinion on a tractor he seen and I'll give him my opinion,or if it's going tobe to much for both of us then I'll tell him to pass,but I gotta watch cause when I giving my opinion my Mom is gettin' that look,you know what I'm talkin' about.

No I really enjoy when I have the extra time,but what I tell my Mom is he has enough to keep himself busy for a long time.

as any of you people know if you have old tractors even if you do have them all restored they are still alot of work just to keep them up and running.

I think what you should do is take all your kids and move in with dad, will give him a large work pool /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif you on the other hand can sit back and relax /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
