Help with filter please

I purchased this filter for my compressor to help remove moisture. It was purchased at Agri Supply and not even the salesmen could tell me if there is a correct way to install. Does it matter matter which way the air flows? Also, I need advice as to where to place the filter. Would you place it in-line between the compressor and the hose or would you simply install it at the end of the hose right next to the tool you are using? This is new ground for me. Thanks for any advice.

I'm not sure on that one, but I think the black end goes closest to the compressor; i.e., black end is inlet end (it should be labelled or have an instruction sheet with it). Now I've never actually used one of those little ones. The kind I've used is usually mounted on or near the compressor; however, there are some little disposable ones, used mostly for painting, that mount right onto the paint gun just before the air hose.

And I moved your post to this forum, since it isn't Yanmar specific, and I think more people will see it here; maybe someone who is familiar with that particular filter.

Threaded end needs to be nearest compressor. The further away from the compressor the better the filter will work.

Thats a type of filter you would use directly on a paint gun the black end threads into the paint gun the other is where you put your fitting (hose). so if youre going to use directly on a compressor the male iend would go into copressor. it must face up to work corectly. Its not desighned to go on a compressor. Search for tip tools they have exellent compressor info. you would be better of with one of the ones they sell.
