Help rebuilding cylinder

Thanks for all the tips! I ended up having to buy a 1 1/2" impact socket. Clamped the rod in my vise with cardboard and a rag protecting the cylinder, and the impact wrench took the nut right off (keep in mind I couldn't budge it with a large adjustable wrench and pipe extension!). Replacing the seals was pretty straightforward... got it all back together and it is working like a champ... no leaks!

I'm glad you got your cylinder repaired and it is working well again for you now. You called and spoke to me on Jan. 10th. If I neglected to, I apologize for not telling you that you would likely need an impact wrench to remove the piston nut. We torque the piston nut to 275 - 330 Ft.Lbs.
I was purusing various threads on TBN and stumbled on yours so I had to look and see if you had spoke with me. I learned something from you here, that is I should also tell the customer what size impact socket will be required.
