I tried to repalce the PTO seal on my YM226 and when I pulled the PTO cover off a transmission assembly came out with it!!! I put it back together and now the PTO won't disengage. It stops turning with the clutch engaged.

Under load as the PTO shaft slows down you can hear a clicking noise coming from the PTO shaft.

How do I fix my tractor?? Any ideas??

My PTO was working fine before I tried to replace the PTO seal. I must have done something wrong @ reinstallation.
Are there any reinstalltion tips when installing the PTO gear cluster?
PTO lever position?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Disconnect all the shifting linkage before reassembly. You have to " feel ' the linkage levers go back into the shift slots as you push the assembly back in.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did notice that you have to "feel" the PTO gear cluster engage the internal shaft as you install it. I was unaware of the need to disconnect any linkages.

I guess I need to invest in a YM226 service manual.

Thanks,
