HELP Please Cub 2518 steering problems

First, let me say that unfortunately I am not real mechanically inclined. My Cub Cadet's steering is starting to go out. Presently, it clicks, and some times the steering wheel will spin freely. Does anybody know what this might be? Is it a hard and expensive fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
