When did you last change the oil & filter(s) ?
Cleaned the suction screen ?

If the joy stick you refer is the lock out up (disengaged pilot controls) it provides a little more flow for the drive motors.

But I dont think that's the main issue, as spanner say check the little things first, Hyd level, filters, suction filter etc.

Then raise it off the ground and cycle both tracks - they should run the same speed. Then try each one touching the ground to see if one is weak, or put your bucket and blade down and try to run the tracks.

Last, your drive motor(s) may be getting weak, 3-4000 hours or so is typical life depending on conditions, fluid changes, drive maintenance etc.

I have an E20 Bobcat also. I also have issues with the tracks. It seems that its mostly when I'm traveling in high speed.

I changed one of the track motors about a year ago and that didn't seem to help.

Where can I find the suction filter? I don't think this model has one.

There is a main hyd canister filter in the engine compartment and then the final drive oil should be changed with gear oil every 500 hours I believe.

is that the main hydraulic filter? Or is there a 'case drain' filter on this model also. I can find the main filter, but I haven't been able to find a 'case drain' filter on this small E20.

The case drain is on the wheel motors to change the gear fluid - it's allen head plugs - usually you line up two plugs at 9 and 3 o clock, then one at the bottom at 6 and drain from the bottom one,and fill in the upper one.

But is there a screen or filter in the case drain? I think some larger models have a screen, but I don't think mine has.

No filters - its like a pint or so of gear oil 80 or 90 weight - the smaller pint or quart size usually have a small tip to fill with or use a turkey baster etc.

Yes you’re correct, quite a few of the older bobcat excavators used a case drain filter for the drive motors. (Carl is referring to the gearbox drain) .
The drive motors each have a hydraulic line that returns normal spillage and lubricating oil to tank. It will t into one and have a small filter before it gets to tank if it has one. They were often neglected and if allowed to plug could snowball into bigger drive motor issues such as blown seals ...
I think the trend has been to not use them in the later machines and allow the Main hydraulic filter to catch debris.

The fact that they pick up when you move the joystick may indicate the pump isn’t up stroking for just the drive motors, pump isn’t getting accurate load sense signal. Then it does upstroke when you move the joystick because it’s getting that signal. Just a thought.
Much simpler, their isn’t debris under the floor pedals?

Thanks for the ideas. All fluids recently changed 1543 hours what makes the pump sense a load . Where could the pilot line be and is that what makes the pump sense a load. Thanks

I did not mention the problem is only left track. Also how do I know how much case drain is to much . None out of left track motor , a steady stream from swivel joint. Thanks again
