Help identify this old hay rake?

This old rake came with the property. I seems in working order except for the drive chain which is broken. It has open gears, traces of yellow paint on the wheels, square chain drive, a cradle to hold an oil can... can anyone ID this and its original paint sceme? Thanks.

Could be an early McCormick Deering.

I can't seem to get the cover image with the illustration to come here into the post, but, it looks to me like a New Idea No. 4 Side Rake and Tedder.

There's a manual for sale on e-bay which you might be able to compare.

definitely not new idea, the frame on mine is simpler and it has a round tube tow bar. I see a dribble of "fresh" Harvest Gold paint on one wheel and I know that MM equipment was used in the area at one time. If it is MM it would be nice to prove it. of course I have yet to see an old rake like this anywhere with a speck of paint remaining, implements were rarely sheltered.
