Tractor
John Deer 2040
I am new to this forum and hope to gain some information regarding my John Deer Type 2040.
My neighbor and I share the tractor for varius tasks.
We call it the John Deer YARD DOG !
We got the machine used and have not idea if the hydraulic fluid was ever changed ???
The hydraulic fluid was contanimated. The worst looking fluid I have ever seen.
We drained and installed new fluid, recommended by John Deer.
Still really looking poorly, new filter, ran it around for a week or two various tasks, and the fluid still looks light grey.
Machine is kept outside at the moment.
Drained and installed fresh fluid again and filter.
Ran it around still milky?????
How is the water getting into the machine???
Thanks in advance for any reply.

Hi and welcome :) ..

You'd be best off posting your specific question in the hydraulics section or the JD section: few people check this particular section y'see :)

All the best, and good luck with YardDog :)

Welcome to TBN from Missouri; what Sensiblenick said, as I only recently found this part of the site after posting on others for years.
