Hi All,
I'm looking for a headset/hearing protector that connects to my FRS radio. It would be a big convenience and safety factor to stay in touch with everyone while I'm out on the tractor.
Anyone have any reccomendations?
Thanks,
Rich

Bose makes a set with audio inputs.

This place has reviews of several different headsets.

I am looking for some hearing protection as well.

Here you go: http://www2.northerntool.com/product-1/200310895.htm

RaceTunes has hearing proection, built in AM/FM Radio, and a connection for your scanner (or FRS radio)

They also make some with Mics built in so you can talk back if you wish.

A friend has a set, no radio I believe, that has a built in intercom system. He and his wife can each wear a unit and watch the race, listen to the sacnner to hear driver to pit conversations, and use the push to talk intercom to speak to each other. A neat setup I must say.

These are called Ulitmate Ears UE-10 Pro and are probably some of the best sounding headsets ever made. They've got over 20dB of isolation (more then twice as good as noise cancellers) and the clearest and most articulate audio you've ever heard {shamelessly lifted from their ad}.

If you have the coin, these are the way to go.

After reading the description, the Ultimate Ears would certianly work great. But for $900 clams they should.

Thanks,
Rich

For 900 bucks I can get a live band to follow me playing on a second tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Come on Mike, I can't believe that. A Quintet maybe, but not a band! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll follow you with my guitar and furnish my own tractor for $500. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can you drive your tractor from TX to NJ so I can cut the grass tonight?

Why spend the money, you can buy the Westone MH-1 models for alot less. http://tinyurl.com/8qy8p I've used them for about three years on a motorcycle with Xm and love them. Great on the tractor now with an iPod.

I also use a set of Westone model 40-4 http://tinyurl.com/9328e on the bike and working when I dont want music. Comfortable enough for all day use and your dont have a sticky ear muff on.
