Headlight Armor for paint protection

Hey Guys,

The way the loader hoses are routed on our tractor they rub the paint on the hood no matter how well you zip them. I've thought of having for 1' extensions made and zip them outside the brace instead of inside the brace.

I also have used a clear plastic adhesive sheet to protect headlights on motorcycles, what do you think of using this to protect the tractor hood.

This is the best shot I have at the moment of the lines.

3m's got some clear adhesive backed rock guard similar to what you mentioned that would probably fit the bill and protect your paint. Its pretty tough stuff and replaceable if i gets worn out. The headlight stuff you got would probably do the job depending on how thick it is (3m is .008").

Sit down when you get the price for the wide stuff. You might be able to find a local installer to give you a piece. Theres lots on ebay MUCH cheaper, search for "3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film"

Did you try ebay? theres some 1' wide stuff for $20 on there.
I can vouch for the strength of the 3m stuff. Its over 2x thicker than the knock offs.
12x60" piece, might be more than you need. Check with a local window tinting place, they usually install this stuff on cars. They might have some scrap.
