Hay Making on a Different Scale

My son does videos too but nothing that can be posted. I haven't a clue how to transfer in to a post able format.
YouTube is super easy to post videos to. Once there, you just copy and paste from the address bar to here. A little over a year ago, we decided to try doing videos. It's overwhelming at first, but eventually it becomes doable.

2025 season is here. 14 acres of rye straw down. Not the driest start. It will take 7-10 days for it to be ready or longer if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Been 2 years since we have ran this tractor. Lasted about an hour before springing a oil leak from the repairs that were done.

It's a hair wet ain't it, glad you found that shed antler before it found on of your tires.
Have a collection of them in the tractor. One was a tire piercer.

Wet in spots. No in between. Either really wet or solid. Had no choice this crop has a narrow cut window and it was about a week late

I knocked down hay on Saturday. Partly sunny.

Sunday was sunny/dry. Monday & Tuesday overcast and low 60’s. Wednesday flooding rains.
Now we have 3 decent days coming, followed by lots of rain. Grrrrrrr

My walk out

Added to the collection. This was 2 years ago on a custom job I do every year. Think up to 2 or 3 flats on this job over the years. The shale is usually the culprit

I took my work clothes with me and changed in the barn after church.
Dropped another 30+ this afternoon. Looks decent until Thursday.

We only baled our own hay, but when the moisture content was high, we scattered a handful of salt on each sq bale before stacking loosly in the barn. That kept the bales from molding and reduced heat-buildup.
A side-benefit was, the cows liked the hay, but never used for horses.
