Having some trouble with my John Deere 2305

My tractor seems to be straining with only a little load. I don't know if it's a hydro problem or not. When I look at the sight gauge it just looks red, don't see any lines. I have put fluid in it. Any ideas what may be causing this? I'm a new owner and don't know much about tractors. Thanks..

I don't know how new you are, but an emergency brake activated will cause the tractor on run slow and sluggish. Are the RPM's up to the 1500-2000 range?
