John Deere 2305
Last week I had a John Deere manual hydraulic diverter valve installed on my John Deere 2305 tractor by a local dealer. I tried operating it, but the valve doesn’t move when the tractor is running and difficult to operate when tractor is not running and hydraulic pressure released. Not sure if this is normal or if I am doing something incorrectly? I asked the dealer about operating the valve and did I need to do something special? They weren’t very helpful in providing operating instructions. The diverter valve allows more efficient switching from belly mower hydraulic lift to the loader curl function without swapping hydraulic lines.

Do you have any pictures of the diverter valve and explanation on which line is connected to what?

That sounds about right. About a decade ago, I remember wondering why it won't spin with just one finger. It took 2 fingers and some squeezing to rotate it.

Thanks for the feedback. After working with the valve control, I found that to move the push/pull to open/close the valve required more effort. Seems easier if the hydraulic pressure is released first. I am thinking that some residual fluid pressure in the valve may be causing this. Not something I will use on a regular basis; only when changing to belly mower operation.

After operating the diverter valve a few times, I realized that it took more effort to push in/pull out the valve than I had expected. Also seems like releasing hydraulic pressure on the valve helps.Works fine and allows quick change from using the loader to operating the belly mower.
