I tried a search and specs I found give different track measurements. I'm looking to buy either an 855 or 955 4wd tractor. I have an open car trailer and wondering if the front tires are wide enough to sit on the ramps. The center is open with 38.5 inches between the ramps. I don't want to get hours away to find out it wont straddle the ramps.
Thanks

Might be a good question to ask the seller before going.
Also, google the model and go to tractor data . com for dimensions.

I did check Tractor data. Says frt track 38.6-47.3. Problem is I don't know what they are measuring. I was hoping someone had one they could measure or had done this. Thanks.

I see 42.6 to 51.3. I don't know if that is outside, inside or center. If you don't get answer here, call the seller.

As GP says, the seller could have the wheels set wide or narrow, and a member here giving you what their tractor is set at won't help a bit when not knowing what the seller has done.

Maybe just take tools along to switch the wheels inside out. Likely change is affected within the rims.
A jack and a metric wheel wrench should be all you need.

Don't want the sales deal to be queered by the way the wheels are mounted by the seller (whereas a call would confirm the distance they are now or is there a reason not to make the call? )

Thanks for the info. Reason I was asking is I haven't made a deal on a particular tractor yet. I've missed out on a couple and looking at several others. I was just trying to find out before I made a firm offer. I didn't want to say "I'll be there tomorrow with cash" if I don't know if I can haul it. I guess I'll have to inquire then make the offer. Thanks for the advise.

I did haul my buddies newer compact on it and it fit fine. I think it's a 4300 or something like that.

I think 38 inch open on ramps and car carrier would be fine.

I would expect the track measurements to reflect the tires center to center measurements. So if the opening between the ranps is the same as the minimum track measurements you would still have a full tire width to work with. Just make sure the ramps can't flip over.

Thanks again. The ramps lock in so should be OK there. I also realized that since I'm looking at tractors with loaders, the bucket will also help stabilize once the tractor is on the trailer.
