Exactly what is pre-germination and how do you accomplish this? I have never heard of it before. thanks

Junk,

I would think that the seed is bathed in water and nutrients X numbers of days/hours prior to laying it down with the hydroseeder. That way when it hits the ground it is ready to drop roots and take off.

That's pretty much it. It's better if you do not soak the seeds. I use shallow rubbermaid containers with holes drilled in the bottom then put misting jets above them. I do this frequently so I have a complete setup for doing a few hundred pounds of seed at one time. For a small batch one could use 5 gallon buckets and pour the water/nutrients over the seed a few times a day, as long as you did not let the seed dry out.

Depending on the seed mixture I pre-germinated 3-5 days. I frequently get perennial rye to sprout within 48-72 hours of seeding, bluegrass takes about 6-8 days.

the carbide Teeth lasted about 5 times longer than the regular teeth did. I would recomend them to anyone.

I have been using my Harley rake to death the last two weeks. What an incredible attachment. When my bottom roller wears out, I will get the carbide replacement roller. The Pro 8 uses the old horizontal bar roller. I can only think that the carbide tooth roller would be better. What an awesome piece of equipment.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I have a line on a used one w/ the horizontal bars. Is it effective still or not worth it? It's $1000 w/ new paint.
