Anyone know if the valve seats in the 1950 model JD 'B' were hardened?

Was just reading an old article on tetra ethyl lead.. etc... and started to think about 'lead alternative/addatives for valve lubrication for those engines without hard seat...

thanks

No they weren't. You really don't need to worry for lead unless you have a engine that turns into the 3000, to 4000 RPM plus range which I don't think you need to worry about on a JD B.
